When drones are used to conduct warfare you can be assured bad things are going to happen. This type of warfare should not be allowed and presents an unfair advantage to the county or person wielding that power. Those that operate the drone operate it from a location far from the battlefield and usually the mentality that goes into operation a drone is search and destroy. To those operating the drone it is a type of game and something that is not taken seriously. Also it presents a disadvantage to the enemy because the drone as nothing to lose but the enemy has his life on the line. Rudy Ramirez was hesitant before killing Memo's father as anyone should be who isn't a heartless with no sensitivity or emotion. After you see someone's face with the intent of murder you see a person life that you are about to take, at least that's what I see. No body should condone killing regardless if it's War time or not, God makes it clear that it is a sin to kill.

According to David Acheson's passage "Is America's Food Supply Safe?" Acheson assures his readers that the FDA is doing it's job to ensure that food is safe and goes on to make such outlandish remarks stating Americans have one of the safest food supplies in the world, but in retrospect I beg to differ. In reality many food producing companies often turn a blind eye over looking quality and safety in exchange for profit violating health regulations with the F.D.A help these companies get away with murder. The food supply in the United States was in better shape twenty years ago then it is today. It is evident that the FDA, whose responsibility is protect the nations food supply is ineffective and insufficient.

If the F.D.A were truly concerned about the food supply in the united states there wouldn't be slaughter houses in our country fusing the remains of animal parts into food products found in our super markets or fast food chains serving burgers with E. coli. Not to mention the massive withdrawal of eggs due to salmonella contamination in which representatives of the FDA openly admitted that hundreds if not thousands of Americans were infected with the deadly disease because of the tainted eggs.Yet Acheson will have you believe that the FDA is doing good job stating " The F.D.A is always working to protect food  from bacterial, viral, and chemical contamination. We use the most modern scientific  methods available to learn how contamination occurs and prevent it."

Claim: The matrix film is a wake up call a simple warning for us to look around and see the world and our society for what it really is the message is that we are in the actual matrix and just as Neo realized the true nature of his environment so should we.

Reason: Neo had a choice between the red pill and the blue pill and we need to see ourselves in that same position, deciding wither we want to come out of a lie or continue believing it like the rest of the world is.

Evidence: Our society is simply a stage, like the the Truman show but far more complex with a false government, economic system and enteratinment and news networks that shell out propaganda desined to keep us from ever leaving the matrix that surrounds us. Ou political system is a complete sham desinged with a republican and democartic party against another in public but behind close doors have the same objectives  they sell ideologies to control and subjugate their population.

It is a negative trend that has engulfed the nation and in the short film of the meatrix we are informed about the negative effects big meat packing industries.  Big meat packing Industry's are a bad thing, they drive small family farms out of business and promote horrible working conditions for there employees but not only that but due to the fact that these companies are so profit oriented health restrictions are often violated, placing emphases on mass production. These compaines care nothing about the consumers they serve but just simply about the money.Companies are under enormous pressure to speed up their lines, which can lead to injuries and dangerous food,

When a company's main concern is solely profit you can be assured terrible working conditions will exist for the workers the of the company. In the slaughter house workers are forced to move at a fast pace chopping up cows, chickens, pigs, etc and everyone carries blades ready to slice and decapitate animals.Speeding up lines can also mean workers have no time to clean or sharpen their knives, which can lead to repetitive stress injuries and, ultimately, dirty food.Cattle intestines often carry dangerous pathogens such as E. coli and are supposed to be kept away from meat, but faster lines can lead to more intestinal spillage onto meat These conditions have already led to health risks, particularly in eating hamburger. In these dangerous working conditions fingers, hands and arms are chopped right off. These workers are paid minimum wage for there dangerous job and if they want to voice there concerns many of them are unable to, becuse they are illigal workers and did you know that most slaughterhouse workers are without health insurance.

In this type of industry many small farms go out of business because they cannot keep up with the big agro cultural farming compaines. But last year The Obama administration proposed new rules seeking to increase competition and rein in potentially unfair practices by large meatpackers and poultry processors. The move is aimed at helping small livestock and poultry farmers survive in an industry dominated by corporate giants.

Why do you think the makers of The Meatrix films used The Matrix as the basis for their arguments? What possible connections could the food industry have to the ideas in The Matrix and, by association, the themes of this course?
makers of the meatrix used the matrix as a basis for their argument because the concept of the Matrix was to get to unearth the truth about whats really going on and the makers of the Meatrix wanted it's audience to become fully aware about the sicking truth concering

Blog Entry 9: Telecommute Report-out

Participating in the telecommute was a satisfactory experience. I had an interaction with the professor via Facebook, and was involved in discussion with two classes. The directions posted by the professor gave me a clear under standing of what was asked of me and if I had any questions the professor was briefly available to answer them. I didn't really experience any issues and I learned that I could participate in class without ever leaving home..... wonderful

Blog Entry 3: Summarizing Hype

In the Article "Hype" presented by Kelly Lasn advertisements are poisoning our brains. Lasn is upset at the fact that theres no limit or any respect as to where advertisements are placed. Oblivious people don't fully comprehend that they are being submerged in advertisements. Hungry for a profit corporations are finding new ways to attack us as if what they aren't doing is enough. It is inevitable, advertisements always manage to find us even if we aren't looking for them. Sometimes i wonder will we ever escape this mind numbing paradox?

Blog entry 2: Reflecting on Annotation

1.What did you get from thinking about annotations with the class?
a better idea of what annotations are really about.

2.What did you get from writing annotations for "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" with your partner?
That we all came to the same conclusions, seeing eye to eye on the authors main point, agreeing that when  multitasking, we don't function as well as we would devoting our attention to one task.

3.What did you learn about the reading by annotating it?
That annotating gives me a deeper understanding of the author point of view. Which is a powerful tool in becoming a good writer

4. How may annotating make you a better writer
It gives me more information to write about and gives the ability fully grasp the authors perspective.

Blog 1 Hype

It is something that cannot be ignored advertisements play a vital role within our daily lives, from influencing our way of thinking to sparking new trends. In an article written by Kally Lasn, we are informed of the increases of public advertisements which seems to have omnipresence about them. I agree with the author and believe that every where we look there seems to be ad, which should be regulated to specific locations.

Advertisements are every where, from rural communities to densely packed urban ones and the rate in which they pop up has grown steadily. Many of us walk around completely oblivious, to the amount of advertisements that our brains absorb. "The increase in commercial advertising has happened so steadily and relentlessly that we haven't quite woken up to the absurdity of it all" says Lasn. It has become a part of our culture and for the most part, it is that voice that we hear that tells us, what to buy, what to eat and in some cases how to live our lives. Lasn states "In corporate America's view, any location where an advertisement can be, should and ought to be filled with a product, or company logo. On a simple ride on the train I'm relentlessly bombarded with advertisements. The non stop stream of advertisements is a testament to how profit oriented businesses are within our society. Lasn finds advertisements to one of the most toxic of the mental pollutants out there, with an estimated 12 billion display ads, 3 million radio ads and well over 200 thousand ads lingering throughout the web as well as other undisclosed sources.

It is a dangerous game being played by the corporations and they're well aware of the influences brought out by advertisements which in reality think for you. If we can become aware of the manipulative factors imposed by advertisements, we would be able to pick and choose, what advertisements we wish to pay attention to.

Blog Entry 6 A comparison

In comparing my life to Plato’s Allegory I sympathize with the Greek philosopher when, he expresses his feeling of liberation, putting himself into the shoes of the freed prisoner. When I reflect on my life in the same manner, I'm proud seeing myself also liberated from the matrix of society. But some may wonder how far really is the extent of my liberation?

I remember as a child envisioning the world as colorful, vibrant place filled with Santa Claus and Easter bunnies. To me the world was my safe little haven. But as I matured in age as well as thought I began to question my surroundings. I found myself wondering why this, and why that and simple yes and no wasn't enough to quell my curiosity. The truth came to me in waves first the matrix, a fantasic movie staring Keanu  Reves then 911. we all remeber out a frighting event that was but for some reason I wasen't buying the report givinen to us by the 911 comission I felt as if i needed to dig deeper to unravel a far more serious plot.

Blog Entry 5: Summary of "The Allegory Of The Cave"

The Allegory Of The Cave

Plato states that slaves who have been chained up in an underground cave all their lives, can only adapt to their environment, which in this case are shadows and echoes of unfamiliar objects. When a former prisoner is released, He discovers a new world beyond the realms of the cave. Filled with joy and excitement he feels the urge to share his new experience with the prisoners in the underground cave. But when he tries to go back, the prisoners don't recognize him or his voice, to them he is just another shadow of unfamiliar objects.
